Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Review: I Get The Magic Now

Samsung caught some heat for making the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro look a lot like Apple’s AirPods, and honestly, I was a bit disappointed too. I mean, why would Samsung, a brand with its own identity, lean so heavily on a design that screams Apple? But after using the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro for over a month, I’ve got to admit, Samsung didn’t just copy the AirPods design for the heck of it. There’s a method to their madness, and you know what? It was worth it. This design actually fixes a lot of the issues people had with previous Samsung earbuds. So, yeah, I’m calling it now—the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are the best earbuds you can get today. But hold up, they’re not perfect. There are a few things you should know before you decide to buy them.

Samsung faced some criticism for making the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro resemble Apple’s AirPods, and I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed too. Why would Samsung, a brand known for its own identity, lean so heavily on a design that looks so Apple-like? But after using the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro for over a month, I realized that Samsung didn’t just copy the AirPods design for no reason. There’s logic behind it, and in the end, it paid off. This design actually resolves many issues that people had with Samsung’s previous earbuds. So, I’m calling it now—the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are currently the best earbuds on the market. However, they’re not perfect, and there are a few things you should know before buying them.
First, if you want to avoid people mistaking them for AirPods, go for the grey ones, not the white. The grey color looks entirely different, and during the 40 days I’ve used them, not a single person commented that they look like AirPods. In fact, I think they look better. The transparent lid and blade lights give them a unique, cool look. Sure, the buds themselves feel a bit plasticky, and I’d have preferred a soft-touch matte finish instead of the glossy look, but overall, I’m a fan of the design. Plus, the clear case is practical—you can see if your buds are inside without even opening it, which is super convenient when you’re on the move.
Samsung also made these buds lighter, and I noticed the difference right away. Unlike the older models, the Buds 3 Pro don’t sit as deeply in your ear, which means less pressure and more comfort during long listening sessions. If, like me, you wear your earbuds for hours, this is a huge win. They also fit securely and stay in place, even during intense workouts. I used to struggle with last year’s Buds, constantly adjusting them during gym sessions, but with the Buds 3 Pro, I had no such issues. They stayed put, and I didn’t even have to turn off the touch controls anymore.
The new stem design also improves the touch controls. They’re more precise and intuitive, making it easy to skip tracks, pause music, or answer calls without accidental taps. However, if you’re a side sleeper, these might not be your best option. The buds form a bit of a triangle in your ears, which can become uncomfortable when lying on your side.
One often overlooked feature is the Bluetooth pairing experience. The Buds 3 Pro come with a pairing button on the case, making it super easy to connect to non-Samsung devices, whether it’s a laptop, tablet, or even an iPhone. Another standout feature is the advanced voice controls. Samsung’s made it possible to control volume and playback using just your voice, without a wake word, and it works well, even in noisy environments.
A minor downside is the limited blade light customization. While the lights look cool and serve practical purposes, like helping you find your buds in the dark, there isn’t much room for personalization beyond the three lighting styles. Still, it’s a small issue considering all the other features.
The sound quality is where Samsung truly shines. The Buds 3 Pro deliver an impressive V-shaped sound profile with enhanced bass, mids, and treble. Whether you’re listening to music, watching videos, or on calls, the sound is clear and well-balanced. Samsung has also improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), making it especially effective in reducing low-frequency noise.
Samsung has also enhanced the Find My Buds feature, making it easier to locate missing buds using the SmartThings network. While not quite as advanced as Apple’s UWB tech, it’s a useful upgrade.
All in all, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are a major upgrade over the previous generation. With better sound quality, ANC, voice controls, and comfort, they’re the best earbuds you can get right now, despite a few minor drawbacks like the gloss finish and discomfort for side sleepers. If you’re in the market for high-quality wireless buds, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro should be on your radar.
