The Morning I Realized I Was Truly Lucky—and the Digital Plan That Got Me There
How I Designed a Life of Freedom, Built Digital Income in My 50s, and Found My True Luck Across Europe’s Rooftops and Shores.

My Italian Summer Adventure: Embracing Freedom and Intentional Living
Rediscovering Childlike Excitement
When was the last time you woke up buzzing with excitement, like a kid on the first day of summer vacation, with a world of adventures and ice cream waiting? That’s exactly how I feel every time I’m in Italy. This summer, I kicked off my Italian adventure in Milan, spending time with my cousins and working from a stunning rooftop. I feel incredibly blessed to have the freedom to work from anywhere in the world. But let’s be clear—luck isn’t just a happy accident. It’s not about manifesting, reciting affirmations, or simply praying for things to happen. While connecting with a higher spirit or intelligence through prayer can ground us, true luck comes from action. As I like to say, you have to pray with your feet.

Crafting a Freedom Lifestyle
This lifestyle didn’t just fall into my lap. It’s the result of years of hard work, intentional choices, and refusing to settle for less. Financial freedom is only part of the equation—plenty of people have money but lack the flexibility to live life on their terms. For me, it’s about creating location freedom through online income sources that allow me to live and work from anywhere. The second key to becoming “lucky” is holding firm to your standards. Every time you say yes to something, you’re saying no to something else. Settling for less blocks better opportunities from entering your life. By prioritizing what truly matters, I’ve built a life that aligns with my dreams.
From Milan to the Italian Riviera
From Milan, I traveled to Turin, a city brimming with art, beauty, and, of course, gelato and aperitivo. I quickly fell into the rhythm of la dolce vita—the lunch hour, the aperitivo with its delightful little snacks, and the daily gelato ritual. My original plan was to head to Bologna next, but a sudden craving for Italian beach vibes led me to change course on a whim and visit the Italian Riviera. I’d been there last September for my birthday, and the spontaneity of returning felt exhilarating. I always book my hotels last minute, usually just the first few days of a trip. It’s a bit risky, and I’ll admit it makes me nervous, but the freedom to listen to my instincts and pivot plans is worth it. Living on the edge like this is thrilling and liberating.

The Joy of Solo Travel
I know solo travel can feel daunting—five years ago, I was terrified of it myself. But after a few trips, I fell in love with the experience of prioritizing myself, making my own decisions, and learning to trust my instincts. In Italy, I travel by train using apps that are available in English, making it easy to buy tickets. I call hotels a day in advance to confirm the best way to get from the train station to my accommodation. Eating alone at restaurants? It’s no big deal here in Europe. I’ve been doing it for two years, and it’s completely normal. If you’ve been hesitant to travel solo, start small—you’ll be surprised at how empowering it feels.
Reconnecting with My Community
Many of you reached out to check on me because I hadn’t posted new YouTube videos in a while. Your messages brought tears to my eyes and reminded me how meaningful my content is to people worldwide. Being a content creator can feel lonely—like sending your work into a void, unsure if anyone’s listening. But your support confirms what I always tell my students: just create authentic content, and the right people will find you. The magic of our time is that anyone can start a YouTube channel or Instagram account as a source of income. In my YouTube course, I teach how to monetize from day one, even with just a few hundred followers, like when I started. If you haven’t begun, now’s the time—this is still a blue ocean opportunity.

What I’ve Been Up To
For those wondering where I’ve been, here’s the scoop. I’ve poured a ton of effort into growing my Instagram from zero to 100,000 followers in just 12 months. I feel like I’ve cracked the Instagram algorithm, but I’ve also learned you can’t grow meaningfully if you’re splitting your focus across multiple platforms. Now that Instagram is thriving, I’m returning to YouTube, where the community and friendships from long-form content are unmatched. I’ve also been busy creating three new digital products and free resources like PDFs to help others grow, even if they’re not buying from me. On the personal side, I’ve been socializing, attending events, and even dating. A short video I made about dating as a woman in her 50s who moved abroad alone went viral, resonating with many women who’ve made similar leaps.
The Beauty of Midterm Rentals
I recently moved into a new apartment, sticking with midterm rentals (1–12 months, typically 6 months for me). I’m not a digital nomad—I crave stability, and these rentals offer the perfect balance of flexibility and comfort. They come fully furnished, down to the teaspoon, saving me from buying furniture or dealing with maintenance in a foreign language. Yes, they cost about 30% more, but the time I save is worth it. I’d rather focus on creating content, developing digital products, and doing one-on-one consultations than chasing down utility companies or repairmen. When I travel, like on my upcoming month-long trip in October, I can store my things and avoid double rent—a huge perk.
Another recent project was converting my driver’s license to a Portuguese one, a requirement after two years of living here. It’s a reasonable process but involves legwork—gathering documents, medical checkups, and appointments. Instead of tackling it myself, I hired a Portuguese agency to handle the bureaucracy. They submit documents, schedule appointments, and tell me where to show up. It’s a small investment that saves me time and stress, letting me focus on what I do best.
A Call to Action
To everyone watching, stop waiting for the perfect moment or the perfect travel companion. Stop praying for a sign. Solutions exist for every challenge—just start moving. Don’t waste this chapter of your life wishing for something better. Eat that gelato every day, wear that beautiful dress, and embrace the life you deserve. Feel free to ask me anything in the comments—I’m here to help. Sending you much love!
