You should start a YouTube channel (even if nobody watches)
This could be the video that changes your life, or it could be the one that changes mine. Honestly, that’s one of the reasons I love YouTube so much. It was six or seven years ago, on this very rooftop, where I filmed my first vlog. My wife and I were on what felt like a honeymoon, and while I had no clear idea of what I wanted to do with YouTube, I knew I had a story to share. I had thoughts, experiences, and passions that no one else seemed to care about. So, I took my phone, started filming, and shared our day exploring mansions—things I had never seen before.

As I kept thinking about it, I realized that I was excited about finance, self-improvement, and other topics that resonated with me. YouTube allowed me to find my community. Before this, I only knew one or two people who shared these interests in real life. But through creating content, I’ve connected with hundreds of thousands of people who are obsessed with the same things I am—whether it’s finance, real estate, or minimalism. It all started with nothing more than a Google Pixel, yet here I am now with a whole community of like-minded individuals.
The beauty of YouTube is that you can be passionate about the most niche topics and still find your tribe. You could dive into subjects as specific as the psychology behind characters in TV shows like Friends and find an audience. Not only that, but you can potentially turn your passion into a business. Looking back on where I started six years ago to where I am now, the main driver behind all these positive changes in my life—besides my kids—has been YouTube. I began as a regular person with no expectations, just sharing what excited me.

I believe everyone should consider starting a YouTube channel, especially because many people stop growing after high school, college, or once they settle into a career. People give up on their dreams of traveling, having control over their schedules, or pursuing passions like becoming an author or YouTuber. While YouTube isn’t a guaranteed golden ticket, it’s a legitimate business model. You can make money, or you can enjoy the process of creating content and learning along the way. I’ve gained so many skills, from videography and public speaking to business and editing, and even landed jobs producing commercials for companies.
Creating on YouTube opens doors to learning new skills, and it’s a great way to engage your mind. For me, it’s been life-changing, especially as an introvert. I’ve found a group of people who share my passions. You don’t have to be perfect or know everything right away. Authenticity is in demand right now. Even if you’re just holding your phone and talking, like I am now, there’s an audience for that. The more you create, the more skills you acquire, and the better you get at expressing yourself.

Through YouTube, I’ve found a balance in life where I can travel, spend time with my family, and still work just a few hours a week. The longer you stick with it, the less you have to work as you start to outsource tasks like editing and scriptwriting. I’m incredibly grateful that I started this journey and didn’t give up. Now, I get to do what I love with complete freedom.
If you’re interested, I’m offering a free class on how to grow on YouTube, find your audience, and start making money. It’s something I recommend to anyone who’s ever thought about it. You don’t have to be a pro right away—just start, find what excites you, and the rest will follow.
As I reflect on my journey, I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful that I took that leap of faith. Starting a YouTube channel has given me the freedom to design the life I want, and that’s something I hope to inspire others to pursue as well. Whether your dream is to have more time with your family, explore new hobbies, travel, or just dive into topics that excite you, it’s possible to make that dream a reality. For me, the ability to balance work and play and the flexibility to travel whenever I want have been two of the most rewarding parts of this entire experience.

What’s unique about the YouTube business model is that the longer you stay committed, the less you actually have to work. Over time, I’ve been able to outsource tasks like editing, thumbnail creation, and even scriptwriting. That means I can focus more on the things that truly matter to me, like creating content that resonates with my audience. It’s surreal to think that I now work fewer hours but make significantly more money than when I started. Very few businesses offer that kind of structure, where the more successful you become, the less time you need to put in. It’s a strange yet amazing phenomenon, and one that has completely changed my life.
I want to share that same opportunity with others, which is why I’m hosting a free “How to Grow on YouTube” class. In this live training, I’ll guide you through finding your ideal audience, identifying the topics you’re passionate about, and growing your channel. Whether you’re in it to build a business, connect with a community, or just explore a creative outlet, YouTube is a platform that can open doors in ways you might not expect. And if you’re not sure where to begin, that’s exactly what this class is for—to help you get started, avoid common mistakes, and find your place on the platform.

If you’ve ever thought about starting a YouTube channel, now might be the time to give it a try. It doesn’t have to be perfect from the start. You don’t need fancy equipment or a polished setup. Some of the most successful creators today began with just a phone and a passion for what they were talking about. I’m living proof that you can build something incredible from nothing, and if you stick with it, the rewards can be life-changing.
So, if you’re ready to take that step, join me in the free class. I’m excited to help others experience the same sense of freedom and fulfillment that I’ve found through YouTube. Whether you’re dreaming of more time with your kids, traveling the world, or simply talking about the things that excite you, I believe YouTube can be a gateway to that dream life. Thanks again for being part of this journey with me, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!

As I think about the possibilities ahead, I’m reminded that none of this would have happened if I hadn’t taken that first step. YouTube, or any creative pursuit for that matter, is about progress, not perfection. You don’t have to have everything figured out when you start. In fact, the beauty of the journey is in learning as you go, discovering what works, what excites you, and what resonates with others. For me, that journey has led to personal growth, new skills, and a community of people I never imagined connecting with.
And it’s not just about financial success or building a business—though those are definitely amazing outcomes. It’s about the fulfillment that comes from pursuing something you’re passionate about. It’s about the personal growth that happens when you step outside your comfort zone. I’ve learned more about myself in the process than I ever expected. From storytelling and videography to public speaking and business, the skills I’ve gained have opened doors in other areas of life, too. I’ve landed jobs and opportunities I never thought possible, all because I chose to share my interests on YouTube.

But more than that, it’s given me the freedom to live life on my own terms. To be present with my family, to travel when I want, and to work in a way that aligns with my lifestyle. This flexibility has allowed me to take charge of my time and focus on what truly matters. I often think about how different things might have been if I hadn’t started that first vlog. It’s a reminder that taking action, no matter how small or uncertain, can lead to incredible things.
That’s why I’m so passionate about encouraging others to pursue their own creative paths. You never know where it might lead. Maybe you’ll find a new community, develop valuable skills, or even create a business out of something you love. Whether you’re into finance, travel, cooking, or any niche interest, there’s an audience out there waiting to connect with you. And even if it doesn’t turn into a full-time career, the personal satisfaction and growth you’ll experience will be worth it.

I want to help others discover that same potential, which is why I’m offering this free YouTube growth class. It’s a chance for you to learn from my experience, ask questions, and figure out how to make YouTube work for you. Whether you’re just curious or ready to dive in, this class is designed to help you take the first step.
As I wrap up, I can’t emphasize enough how thankful I am for the journey YouTube has taken me on. Freedom, the community, and personal growth have all been invaluable. If you’ve ever thought about starting a channel, I encourage you to take that leap. You don’t have to be perfect; you just have to start. I hope this has inspired you to take action on your own dreams, and I can’t wait to see where your journey leads. Thank you for being here, and I look forward to connecting with you in the future.
